Ilfracombe's main seafront beach is Wildersmouth - a beach of course grey sand and small shingle, with a small stream flowing down the side. Local facilities include a Tourist Information Centre and cafes. Dogs are allowed at all times. Ilfracombe's main shopping street is about 200 yards to the south and has a wide range of shops.
