Eype's Mouth

Eype's Mouth beach (pronounced 'eeps') is a small steeply shelving beach of (mostly flint) shingle backed by high unstable cliffs. A private (attended / honesty box) car park overlooks the beach and is reached by a very long, narrow and winding lane from the A35. Signs say that dogs are welcome and that bathing water quality is generally good.

Comment : Even in the height of summer, Eype beach is never really too busy...If you want peace and tranquility and are happy to throw down a picnic blanket over the pebbles, this is a great little spot to while away the hours. Shop/Cafe nearby in Eype campsite and car parking either at the bottom of the lane or again at the nearby campsite which is a few mins walk back up the lane. The lane down can be a bit narrow, but lots of passing places.
