Swimmers are advised to wear brightly coloured swim caps or swim with a bright tow-buoy to make themselves visible. Llanberis village has toilets ♿ and short term (90 minutes) street parking, as well as a P&D car park overlooking the lake. The lake drains into the Afon Rhythallt at its western end, and there is free roadside parking here on a section of the old road at Grid Ref : SH559623.
