Ladram Bay is a small bay about 400 yards wide, of flint shingle and low tide sand, backed by high cliffs of red sandstone. The sea stack of Ladram Rock stands at the north-eastern end of the bay, opposite the main access. The extensive Ladram Bay holiday park occupies the land behind the beach, but does not provide parking for non-residents. Some parking on a wide verge can be found at Grid Ref : SY089849; follow the signs for Ladram Bay through Otterton, and as the lane leaves the village and begins to climb, take a lane on your right. About 400 yards along here is a horse chestnut tree on a wide verge with a narrow lane leading off to the left. Follow this lane and onto the coastal path. The distance is about ¾ mile with a descent of about 210 feet. Final access is down a steep slipway. Dogs are not allowed on the beach during the summer season, toilets are available on the slipway and lifeguards patrol from mid-July until early September.
