Salcombe Mouth lies to the east of Sidmouth and about a mile south of the picturesque village of Salcombe Regis. It's a beach of flint shingle, and backed by high unstable cliffs of red sandstone and mudstone. To the east are some veins of orange gypsum at beach level. The shore westwards has been closed off due to danger from landslips. Some roadside parking can be found on the wooded Salcombe hill on the road from Salcombe Regis to Sidmouth. From here, follow footpaths towards Salcombe Regis from where other public footpaths lead along the combe to the beach with a descent of approximately 500 feet.
