Southbourne Beach is the most easterly of Bournemouth's lifeguarded beaches. The sandy shore is backed by the promenade, which finally comes to an end to the east of the beach. Dogs are not allowed on the section of the beach beyond the end of the promenade between 1st May and 30th September inclusive. P&D parking can be found just off Southbourne Coast Road, and beach access is down a sloping tarmac path. Lifeguards patrol from late May until early Spetember. Facilities include toilets, drinking water, a cafe and shower.
