Llyn Caerwych

Llyn Caerwych is a remote but scenic mountain lake in the Rhinog mountains, tucked away between small hillocks and difficult to find without a map and compass. The nearest parking is on the verge at the end of a lane from Glan-y-wern at Grid Ref : SH629342 in front of the gateway - the track to the right leading up to the lake. Note that this lane is very narrow with hairpin bends and steep gradients.

Directions : From the parking area, follow the steep track opposite up to another track in front of a rocky outcrop, and follow this in a north-easterly direction and past two gates. After a few hundred yards, another marked path diverges to the left. Follow this for about 400 yards to a particularly boggy section, then turn left and head exactly due north on a compass bearing.
